Tyler Area ABSE Officers

Dr. NaTasha S. Crain is a native of Longview, Texas, and a graduate of Longview High School. Currently serving in her sixth year as Principal at Jones Elementary, she has been a part of Tyler Independent School District since 2010. She has held leadership positions as the K-12 Language Arts Facilitator in the Curriculum and Instruction Department from 2010-2013, Assistant Principal at Hubbard Middle School from 2013-2015, and Assistant Principal at Three Lakes Middle school from 2015-2017. Prior to Tyler ISD, Ms. Crain taught English, Language Arts, and Reading at the junior high and high school levels in Karnack ISD and Longview ISD.

Ms. Crain earned a Bachelor of Arts in English and Speech from Jarvis Christian College (Hawkins, Texas) and a Master of Education in Educational Administration from Lamar University (Beaumont, Texas). She recently graduated in May of 2022 from Baylor University (Waco, Texas) with a doctoral degree (Ed.D.) in Learning and Organizational Change. She is a member is of the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Kappa Delta Pi, and Texas Alliance of Black School Educators currently serving as President for the Tyler-Area Affiliate. Ms. Crain is also a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. in affiliation with the Epsilon Zeta Omega Chapter in her hometown of Longview, Texas. She currently serves as the Vice-President and Program Committee Chairperson in the organization as well. In her spare time, Ms. Crain enjoys community service, shopping, cooking, spending time with family and friends, and traveling. With almost 20 years as an educator, her passion comes from the continuous effort to help students realize the value of education, along with the belief that all children can learn and deserve a quality education catered to their individual needs.
